BEA hosted Left Out by Design, a teach-in and conversation featuring Rooted Futures Lab and the AI Now Institute. Panelists and participants explored AI beyond the buzzwords - unpacking its history, clearing up misconceptions, and lifting up the critical body of work that shows how these technologies are rooted in histories of oppression. The space was also open to connecting these insights back to the pressing questions AI raises for climate funders, greens, and environmental justice work today.
